Sometimes innovative ideas start off on the right path but maybe in this situation there needs to be some reflection - I am not privy to witness the actual projects of these students and I believe that independent work is the most beneficial but my questions begin with the fact how and when do students learn the skills to think, create, evaluate, etc independently? After these skills are mastered I agree guides helping life long learners would be a great idea.
