For iPad users, supporters, or detractors - I recommend checking out the Educational Resource: "Studies of iPad Use in Education."

Richard Byrne wanted to step beyond anecdotal stories about iPads in the classrooms so he provided links to several studies investigating the impact iPads have on the classroom. Many of these studies occur abroad - as he cites the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development for Victoria, Australia's report "iPads for Learning - In Their Hands field trial." In addition he sites "The iPad as a Tool for Education" study based in Longfield Academy, Kent, England. He also references a few other studies of note.
