Google has announced 15 lessons to help students utilize the power of web searches - as stated with the video "Web search can be a remarkable tool for students, and a bit of instruction in how to search for academic sources will help your students become critical thinkers and independent learners." Lessons titles include "Understanding search engines," "Search technique and strategies," and "features and operators." This is an essential skill for students; in the past it was difficult to find and access information, yet thanks to the internet students have access to nearly infinite information making the new necessary skills searching efficiently to gather understand, evaluate, and synthesize the information they have found. This will help students read, write, and think critically and independently.
