Article: Good news from Africa: Africa is experiencing some of the biggest falls in child mortality ever seen
During the genocide unit my 7th graders often struggle to understand the current state of African countries - slowly some realize that many of these countries are only a few generations removed from colonial rule. Despite the many dark times in these countries development this latest news is exciting to read. It also provides an opportunity for students to use their skills at reading visuals/charts/infographs. I recommend checking out this short article from the Economist "Good news from Africa: Africa is experiencing some of the biggest falls in child mortality ever seen."
