"Sports Illustrated’s Profile of Michael Jordan’s High School Coach and the Cutting Myth Shows Power of Perception"
Perception is more important sometimes than reality unfortunately. Read the full article here detailing the myth versus reality of Michael Jordan's high school career. As a Chicagoan I have long heard the myth of Jordan being cut as a sophomore but again I also have heard the truth - he was simply placed on the JV squad. As a freshman at New Trier I was 5'9'' and I was cut from both the Freshman A and B team. This motivation did forever change my basketball career and outlook - it motivated me and helped me develop the necessary work ethic to succeed.
